Los Ángeles, 29 de octubre. Hace 15 años, Dave Grohl, ex baterista de Nirvana, tranquilamente hizo circular entre sus amigos las copias de un demo en el que interpretaba las voces y tocaba todos los instrumentos. Grohl consideró el proyecto una tontería y lo llamó Foo Fighters debido a que quería que la gente pensara que era una banda real, como The Ramones o Pixies, recordó el miércoles en una grabación del programa Storytellers, de la cadena VH1. Inevitablemente la grabación desató una guerra de ofertas entre los sellos discográficos, todos desesperados por publicar la primera obra de Nirvana desde el suicidio de su líder Kurt Cobain en 1994. Grohl reunió una banda real junto a tres músicos, firmó con Capitol Records y lanzó oficialmente el demo –todavía llamado Foo Fighters– en julio de 1995. Una revisión de sus siete discos saldrá la próxima semana, cuando presente su primera compilación, Greatest Hits.
